CelticFest OFFICIAL HOST
Maureen Langan, Irish-American Comedian

Maureen Langan

Hosting most of the Festival Events

An Irish American from the South Bronx, Maureen Langan is one of the most fearlessly funny comics working today. Her honesty, high energy, and ability to rant on life’s absurdities make her a comedy standout at clubs and theatres across the country. Once she takes to the stage it’s clear to see why this feisty female was named one of the "Ten Standout Stand-ups Worth Watching" by Backstage Magazine. Whether she’s going after celebrities or her own blessed Irish immigrant mother, Langan will have you roaring with laughter. Maureen regularly opens for The View’s Joy Behar and is a regular at Carolines on Broadway, The Comedy Stop at The Trop in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, and the esteemed NY Friars Club. She has appeared on HBO, WE Television, Comic’s Unleashed, in “Marci X,” a Paramount Pictures film starring Damon Wayans, and in many national commercials. She was a huge hit at this summer’s comedy festivals in Nantucket, Long Island, and Boston.

Maureen is also an award-winning television and radio journalist whose exceptional wit earned her the title of Best Female Commentator by the Newswomen’s Club of New York. Her natural talent for satirizing world news and interviewing celebrities led to the hosting of her own nationally-syndicated radio talk show called The Radio Ritas, heard in 12 markets across the country. Maureen was the creator and host of Bloomberg TV and Radio’s award-winning entertainment programming. Her candid shoot-from-the-hip interviewing style earned her rave reviews. She’s dished with the likes of Howard Stern, Joan Rivers, Phyllis Diller, and George Carlin. Her humor, coupled with her journalism background, makes her a popular contributor on the talk show circuit, including Fox, MSNBC, WE Television, The Onion, and WOR Radio.

And there is a serious side to this writer and performer. Maureen writes and performs autobiographical monologues, which have been called “poignant, emotionally-stirring, and unapologetic”. Her solo work can be seen at the Irish Arts Center in New York City and other venues.

Whether on stage, television or radio, MAUREEN LANGAN delivers. Give her a microphone and see for yourself.
