Connecting ancient wisdom with practical 21st century solutions, ‘OUR BLUE WORLD – A Water Odyssey’ is a spectacular and eye-opening film about our deepest and most precious resource. As anthropologist Wade Davis points out, every culture holds water sacred.
Ecologist and philosopher Li An Phoa experienced an epiphany drinking water directly from the Rupert River in northern Quebec… She now campaigns to create clean drinkable river systems all over the world, because, “if we are taking care of the rivers, we are taking care of ourselves.”
The film takes us to the Mississippi, to Cambodia, Europe, Burundi… To Peru, where Incan canals alleviate water shortages in Lima, and to China, where “sponge cities” store rain from monsoon season to cultivate green urban spaces year-round.
Narrated by Liam Neeson and created by an Academy Award-winning team, OUR BLUE WORLD is a powerful exploration of water innovation and sustainability. Screened across several continents where it has resonated with global audiences, the film has won numerous international awards since its launch in 2024.
The film also features an original score recorded at Windmill Lane, Dublin, and includes music from David Bowie, The Beatles, and U2.
